About Sukemitsu
He was born in 1820 in Aoyama, Edo.
Aoyama in the Edo period was a countryside on the outskirts of town because it was on the west side of Edo- Castle.
He died in 1854 at the age of 54 in the abolished feudal clan of the Meiji Restoration.
In 1849. With the support of Tokugawa Nariaki, SUKEMITSU built a mansion and became a sword smith in- Mito.
It is a very wild and beautiful Japanese sword, and its surface is called "YAGUMO GITAE".
It is believed that Nariaki Tokugawa, the 9th feudal lord of the Mito Domain, loved Japanese swords so much- that he made his own swords and worked as a production with Sukemitsu or someone.
The sword of Nariaki was owned by the 12th Shogun of the Tokugawa family And it is designated as an- important cultural property of the prefecture.
So the making is similar.
In this way, the old politicians valued traditional culture very much.
