He learned how to make a Japanese sword under the Living National Treasure GSSAN Sadakazu.
His work won the KUNZAN Prize at the New Masterpiece Exhibition and many other awards.
Mikami is famous for working on the weapons that appear in the animated movie "Neon Genesis Evangelion".

POINT

His specialty is the Japanese sword style "SOUDEN BIZEN".
This style was created by incorporating "SOSYUDEN(A tradition developed in Kamakura)" into "BIZENDEN" during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The sword is made according to the style of CHOGI, who was a master craftsman at that time.
CHOGI was one of the 10 disciples of Masamune, and He overturned the conventional wisdom of Japanese swords made in Bizen Province(modern Okayama prefecture) and succeeded in using the Soshuden style.
Like MASAMUNE, it inherits the Soshuden.
