About IYONOJYO Minamoto Munetsugu

IYONOJYO MINAMOTO MUNETSUGU(伊予掾源宗次) was born into a priesthood family. The place is Tenmangu. He served NABESHIMA KATSUSHIGE, the first feudal lord of the Saga domain.
In 1606, he was appointed to the official position of the local government called IYO NOJYO.
After that, he was appointed to the higher rank IYONODA IJYO(伊予大掾).

POINT

His school should be YAMASHIRODEN(Kyoto style), but it's a SOUSYUDEN(Kanagawa, Kamakura style ) style work. Famous swords miths of Soshuden are Masamune(Kamakura Era) and Kiyomaro(Edo Era).
That style is strong HAMON and NIE(Grains due to scientific changes that appear on the surface of Japanese swords due to heat.) like NAOE SHIZU(2 Pictures below).
